Beyond paper handouts: why to keep exercises online
A printed handout gets crumpled, lost, or ends up in a drawer. An online program solves most of its weaknesses.
A printed exercise handout has a short life – it gets crumpled, lost, or ends up in a drawer. An online program solves most of its weaknesses.
What paper can't do
- Video. A static photo can't replace showing the movement.
- Updates. When you change the program, paper stays old. The online version is always current.
- Availability. The client always has their phone. The handout, usually not.
What you gain on top
An online program gives the client an overview – what's done, how many rounds are left, and when they last exercised. All of that is missing on paper. For you it means less printing and less explaining; you build the program once and share it by a link or QR code.
Paper still has its place – anyone who wants can download the program as a PDF and print it. But the default channel today is the phone.
Going online doesn't have to be a leap. Start by sharing programs with new clients via a link, and keep paper as a backup.
